Finding the inside diameter of a pipe is more complicated. 2" pipe, for example, will have varying inside diameters depending on the required strength of the pipe. For example, 2" Schedule 80 pipe has thicker walls and therefore a smaller inside diameter than 2" Schedule 40 pipe. However, the outside diameters of the pipes are the same so that the same fittings can be used in both cases.

: I believe scheduled is correct, i.e. pipes sized to a schedule. See link: http://www.google.it/search?hl=it&q="SCHEDULED PIPE"&meta=lr...

Bisogna ingegnarsi :)

Italian term (edited):
tubo schedulato
standard pipe type
I have done a bit of research. This **could** mean a pipe chosen from the range of standard production sizes and quality available from any supplier. i.e. as found on any standard schedule of standard pipes (as opposed to having a pipe specially made). Any use?

or just "standard pipe".
