German term

Luftkeime/Keime

German to English Medical Medical (general)
This may be an obvious question, but can "germs" and "bacteria" be used interchangeably? (You can tell I dropped science at school at the age of 11!)

THis article has various references to measuring amounts of "Keime", "Luftkeime", "Keime in der Umgebung des Patienten" etc., and I just want to be sure I can speak of "airborne bacteria" without it having a different meaning to "airborn germs".
TIA!

Discussion

agree MMUlr : "airborne" yes, for germs I would prefer microorganisms or also pathogens, depending on context.
