Parteivernehmung = (here) party testimony or testimony in court

I agree completely that the literal translation is interrogation or examination of a party (most likely by the judge according to Romain, because in a German court much of the questining is done by the judge rather than by one of the attorneys). However,the point is usually to indicate the type of evidence being cited. In this case the type of evidence is actually the testimony or the party testimony that has been elicited by questioning.
So, the neatest way of translating is: party testimony, testimony, or even testimony before the court (court testimony).
