Answer from the client This is indeed the company pension plan (Pensionskasse) as I suspected, and the percentage contributed.

Vera, did you check whether it is common (or possible) to continue paying into a pension/retirement of a former employer? If I recall well, the situation differs per country. Moreover, are these percentages common/acceptable? Not much help I'm afraid, but the search might confirm what is permitted/standard procedure.

After extensive research I discovered that the individual had previously been employed at Degussa. So I am wondering if he had another pension plan there, (Pensionskasse Degussa) and continues to pay into it. Is this a feasible thought? Unfortunately, I it would be difficult to get this answer from the client, since there are a couple of agencies involved.

Maxime, the one in question is *Abzug PK Deg.*. I listed the others to give an idea in which context the problematic listing occurs. So "health insurance" would not be sufficient here.
