Au Gabon particulièrement, le Rhizophora racemosa abonderait dans les eaux saumâtres. En ce qui concerne les Avicennias, étant moins dépendants à la salinité de l’eau, ils poussent généralement en arrière des Rhizophoras et remontent souvent plus en amont des fleuves.
