I think a sort of acronym used By SIGMA for orders....

The amino functionality of the drugs was reacted with four homochiral isothiocyanates, 2,3,4,6-tetra-O-acetyl-beta-D-glucopyranosyl isothiocyanate (TAGIT), (R)-alpha-methylbenzyl isothiocyanate (RAMBI), (S)-1-(1-naphthyl)ethyl isothiocyanate (SNEIT), and (R)-1-(2-naphthyl)ethyl isothiocyanate (RBEIT).

See GITC as well
for (Guanidinium Thiocyanate)...

I am not sure if this a widely used acronym...or not. As David pinpoints it\'s logical that it would be. I can\'t find other refs, as for GITC...
\"Briefly, the plasma was extracted with hexane-isopentanol (99:1) after basification, the organic form was separated and evaporated. A precolumn derivation was performed using 2,3,4,6-tetra-O-acetyl--D -glucopyransoyl isothiocyanate (GITC, sigma chemical Co, USA) as derivative reagent...\"

David, I give the same reference, but as you probably know scientists mention specific products in pub.papers. as well. I have no way of knowing where they ordered from, but it could well be Sigma, or not. Definitely, see your point. :-)
