I've heard the term 'cockpit' cannot be translated as 'bañera' when it comes to a yacht or large vessel, using 'puente de mando' instead . Honestly I'm not sure if that is the case, that's whay I'd like to hear your opinions. Here's some context from an offshore yacht owner's handbook:
"Custom made holders are provided in the cockpit for life raft stowage"
Thanks for your help in advance

Depends where it is. Puente de mando alto o superior refers to the bridge or flybridge_ the bit on the top where you can steer from. this is generally called the fly or flybridge. wheelhouse is not the boxlike affair seen on small fishing boats but an area in or near the main saloon and is called puente de mando.
the bit at the back can be called cubierta de popa but is also known as bañera de popa because it has built up sides. See Belluire brochure
