Discussion
Time is the phenomenon (that after the interval elapsed, discharge is triggered) as turbidity is (afer a certain value was reached, etc.).
Timer is just a device- so placing both in the same sentence and context is less than ideal IMHO.
But people normally mention the "thing" that they see/touch rather than the underlying phenomenon or physical property.
