For the incident to occur as series of issues must occur:
A large vessel must be underway on a collision course;
It must be of sufficient speed and size to risk puncturing through to the containment
It must not take avoiding action or slow down
It must impact the LNG carrier squarely
It must strike the LNG carrier at a storage tank (which takes up approx. 70% of the length
The impacting vessel must suffer insignificant energy absorption through crumpling
