预算(错了)海龟孵化的时间 / 估计(错了)海龟孵化的时间
“timing” 是 “校时”,预算某事情会在某时间发生。
My turtle timing may have been off:
看来我是预算错了海龟孵化的时间;
看来我是估计错了海龟孵化的时间。
依照 Tomasso 提供的语境,作者来到沙滩时,只发现海龟蛋的蛋壳,小海龟在 “a few weeks earlier” 已经 “flip-flopping their way toward the water.”

Turtle timing, preceding context
***My turtle timing may have been off,*** but my visit coincided with the new moon, and the dark night provided perfect conditions for viewing the bioluminescence at Salt River Bay.End of quote, You do have the entire story right?
Bad habit of some to leave out words, Turtle Timing is not a specific term...
Expanded phrase ;;My calculations of when the turtles would lay eggs, and the timing of when the eggs would hatch, based on cycles of the moon, my calculation may have been off, to be off is not to be accurate, my timing calculation were not right.

Timing, comes from word Time, but Timing is maybe like the life cycles, CALCULATING THE TURTLE LIFE CYCLES, when do the turles arrive, when do they lay eggs, when do the hatch. Timing, when do they do this, when do they do that.

Animals have a sense of time....https://naturalsciences.ch/seasons-explained/animal_behaviou... quote Animals follow the seasons very closely. Changes in the length of the day or temperature affect the animals’ hormone production and cause them to behave according to the season. For that reason, animals instinctively know **when** it’s time for them to mate, build a nest, fly south or stock up on food for the winter.
