Mijn vakgebied noch talenpaar, maar op dit moment weinig vertalers en ik geloof dat het antwoord eenvoudig is: typo voor atria, hartboezems. Hartfalen is immers een belangrijke oorzaak voor oedeem.

: atria are the two upper chambers of the heart, not sure how that would relate to cold extremities.

ik dacht dat een slecht werkend hart misscien ook een wat lagere temperatuur heeft, zeker omdat het bewegende delen heeft. Op een scan is dat misschien zichtbaar. Maar ik ben geen expert.
