Languages and European Cultures at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.
According to
Il Sole 24 Ore ranking of the universities the degree course in
Linguistic Mediation resulted second in 2009
(2009 Press Release) , third in 2008 and first in its quality in 2007.
The degree course combined the improving of the linguistic mastery with expandure of the knowledge of socio-economic and legal context of the European Union.
I specialized in
Public Relations for Companies and Institutions with the final mark of 98/110.
My thesis focused on Italian-English transalation of a European Court Order assisted by a TM created
ex-novo from a parallel corpus.
During the years of my studies I occasionaly translated legal documents (Lithuanian<->Italian), user's manuals (Lithuanian-Italian), technical documents (Lithuanian-Italian) and web pages (Lithuanian -> English, Lithuanian- Italian)
I am a bilingual Italian-Lithuanian speaker since I moved in Italy beeing a child and I constantly visited Lithuania and kept realationships within it.
In 2008/2009 I received a scolarship to be employed as an Italian Language Assistant at the University of Gotheborg (Sweden).
Since August 2009 till March 2010 I worked on a LionBridge project as a free-lance internet assessor for Google Italy.
This collaboration allowed me to adquire a significant experience in IT, content localization, and general WEB related fields.
Since december 2011 till June 2012 I worked for Barclays PLC on a Desktop Provisioning department's transition project. In 18 months I was involved in technology service transition from Milan's Lutech to Barclays Technology LTD in Vilnius. Basic activities were translation of very complex technical/procedural documents from Italian to English and Lithuanian. Phone interpretation between Barclays and Lutech management English<->Italian. Training of Lithuanian agents.
In July 2012 I decided to move on as a full time freelancer. Currently I'm involved in www.mailerlite.com service transition to Italy(www.mailerlite.eu). The
live date is expected to be 1st of September.
