Marginal note:Application before entering Canada
A foreign national must, before entering Canada, apply to an officer for a visa or for any other document required by the regulations. The visa or document may be issued if, following an examination, the officer is satisfied that the foreign national is not inadmissible and meets the requirements of this Act.
Marginal note:Electronic travel authorization
Despite subsection (1), a foreign national must, before entering Canada, apply for an electronic travel authorization required by the regulations by means of an electronic system, unless the regulations provide that the application may be made by other means. The application may be examined by an officer and, if the officer determines that the foreign national is not inadmissible and meets the requirements of this Act, the authorization may be issued by the officer.

A designated foreign national may not make an application for permanent residence under subsection (1)
(a) if they have made a claim for refugee protection but have not made an application for protection, until five years after the day on which a final determination in respect of the claim is made;
(b) if they have made an application for protection, until five years after the day on which a final determination in respect of the application is made; or
(c) in any other case, until five years after the day on which they become a designated foreign national.

(1.2) The processing of an application for permanent residence under subsection (1) of a foreign national who, after the application is made, becomes a designated foreign national is suspended
(a) if the foreign national has made a claim for refugee protection but has not made an application for protection, until five years after the day on which a final determination in respect of the claim is made;

O visto ou documento só será emitido se, os oficiais da embaixada após constatações, considerarem o pedido do estrangeiro legítimo (ou seja, que não é inadmissível) e concordarem que vai de encontro aos requisitos dessa Legislação.
Autorização eletrônica para viagem:
Apesar da subseção (1), um estrangeiro deve, antes de entrar no Canadá, requisitar uma autorização eletrônica que deverá ser solicitada pelas autoridades de um sistema eletrônico, a menos que o órgão regulamentador autorize que o pedido seja feito de outra forma. O requerimento será analisado por um oficial e, se ele determinar o pedido do estrangeiro legítimo (ou seja, que não é inadmissível) e que vá de encontro aos requisitos dessa Legislação, então a autorização será emitida pelo escritório da embaixada.
Restrições:
Um estrangeiro designado¹ não poderá fazer a solicitação para residência permanente caso se encaixe em um ou mais tópicos da subseção abaixo:
(a) se o estrangeiro fez um pedido de proteção ao refugiado, mas não efetivou o pedido de proteção, até cinco anos após o dia em que uma determinação final em relação à reivindicação é feita;

Estudo a língua inglesa por mais da metade de minha vida (13 anos), formada em tradução há um ano, trabalho na área de tradução desde a formatura. Atuei com instrutora de ensino por 2 anos. Atualmente faço também traduções voluntárias para games além de estar me especializando em Tradução Médica. Estudei a língua espanhola por dois anos e estou no nível avançado da língua de acordo com o certificado DELE.
I have been studying the English language for more than half of my life (13 years), I am a Bachelor in Translation and Interpreting for a year and since graduation I have been making for jobs as a freelance. Additionally I was an English teacher for Brazilian students for 2 years. Currently I am volunteering translating for a game called Foundation, as well as a specialization course in Medical Translation. I studied the Spanish language for two years and I am an advanced student according to DELE certification.
Estudié inglés por casi toda mi vida (13 años), me gradué en Traducción y Interpretación hace 1 año y desde la graduación trabajo por cuenta propria. Además, yo he sido maestra de Inglés para Brasileños por 2 años. Hoy en día soy traductora voluntaria para un videojuego llamado Foundation, así como un curso de especialización en Traducción Medica. Estudié español por dos años y soy clasificada como avanzada segundo la certificación DELE.
