Bio

I am a qualified freelance translator with 13 years of experience. I am originally from Spain and I currently live part of the time in Portugal and part of the time in Spain.

I have a Degree in Translation and Interpreting by the Universidad de Valladolid, Spain, and an MA in Translation with Language Technology by Swansea University, United Kingdom. Additionally, I have completed specilisation courses in Localisation, Patent and Spanish Language Style.

I see my work as a vocation, that's why I have devoted my entire career to translating, which today allows me to offer a wide variety of English, French, Italian and Portuguese into European Spanish services. Thanks to my translation training and my professional experience, I am specialised in a wide variety of texts, mainly technical (automotive and manufacturing), pharmaceutical and marketing, as well as in web, software and app localization.

Having worked as an SDL Trados Studio online trainer for 5 years has allowed me to feel comfortable using a wide range of industry standard CAT tools.

I am a member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists, the United Kingdom, with CIOL number 55940.

In order to master my work languages I have spent a total of 9 years living, studying and working in different European countries: Italy, Ireland, France, the United Kingdom and Portugal. This has given me firsthand knowledge of their languages and cultures, which is value added to my profession.

I am passionate about all things to do with languages, linguistics, sociolinguistics, etymology, literature, psychology and computer-assited translation (CAT) tools. Besides language-related topics, I love indoor and open water swimming, running, cycling and triathlon, with memberships in local swimming and triathlon clubs.
