El objetivo principal de mi investigaci�n fue analizar al teletrabajo como fen�meno en el contexto de la sociedad de la informaci�n desde una perspectiva comunicacional, a trav�s del caso espec�fico de los teletraductores en la ciudad de Rosario y as� sentar las bases para debitar acerca de esta tem�tica. Los pa�ses desarrollados basan su crecimiento en la aplicaci�n y la planificaci�n estrat�gica de herramientas tecnol�gicas. No reconocer la influencia de las TIC en el mundo laboral mundial implica la auto-exclusi�n de una naci�n no s�lo del mercado laboral sino del engranaje de la econom�a mundial. La tecnolog�a por s� sola no determina que se produzcan cambios, pero influye en los procesos que se est�n gestando. La sociedad de la informaci�n se est� construyendo sin demasiada planificaci�n; si bien esto es parte de su esencia, a su vez la falta de participaci�n social puede tener como resultado la exclusi�n de ciertos sectores. Las diversas organizaciones tenemos la obligaci�n de analizar las situaciones relacionadas con el uso de las TIC en nuestro entorno para poder dise�ar estrategias viables que pongan a las TIC al servicio de la ciudadan�a, as� como tambi�n planificar y divulgar pol�ticas orientadas a solucionar los problemas sociales derivados del uso y la aplicaci�n de las TIC en una sociedad.
