much better than 2009 which was very low for me
2010 good
2011 even better | | | Mónica Algazi Uruguay Local time: 18:52 Member (2005) English to Spanish
Regarding translation for both local and international clients, 2010 has even surpassed 2009, which was also a record-breaking year.

Definitely a big yes.
A good year with lots of rewarding jobs from regular customers and some promising projects with new customers. A good deal of interpreting jobs, too. Overall, it feels the crisis is/was overrated, a bit. Sure, a lot of businesses tried to use it to bring prices down, but fortunately it was a feeble attempt at best | | | Michael Harris Germany Local time: 22:52 Member (2006) German to English | swisstell Italy Local time: 22:52 German to English + ... better than good! | Dec 27, 2010 |
With new record volume and the satisfaction of working for many loyal "old" customers but also seeing a growing roster of new ones. | | | Pretty abysmal | Dec 27, 2010 |
Everyone else seems to be full of good cheer, but I have to confess that the year has been dire.
Looking at the subjects I translate most volume on, though, the car industry and recruitment profile analyses, then I suppose I shouldn't be so surprised.

But I did begin to lose heart and to question whether I was indeed the (good) translator I thought I was, and my self-confidence certainly took a bashing. I have a great big thank you therefore to give to a client who, unsolicited, sent me a congratulatory e-mail about the standard of my work. It was very well-timed, although she was not to know this, and galvanised me towards looking for new clients and being a bit more philosophical about things!
So, fingers crossed that the more recent upward trend will continue through to the new year! ▲ Collapse

2010 was so good better than 2009, and I hope 2011 even better.
A significant improvement in every way on 2009, which was already pretty good. Onward and upward. | | | It got quite good toward the end | Dec 29, 2010 |
My volume sagged in 2008 and most of 2009, and since then it has been picking up, now back to past levels. | | | Wonderful year | Dec 31, 2010 |
2010 was a wonderful year for me locally and internationally. I certainly hope that 2011 will be even better.
