translating English/Russian/Ukrainian, my mother tongue is Russian (and Ukrainian), and here is my background.
I graduated physics department of Kiev University in 1975 and have been employed, since then, as a mathematician and a programmer, working, in parallel, as a freelance translator. For the first agency, I translated various scientific and technical documents on a wide range of subjects, including machinery, electronics, healthcare etc., (mainly English into Russian, much less vice versa), and books on computer software, English into Russian, for the rest mentioned above. Several smaller tasks include 4 short stories translated from English into Ukrainian and published. The overall volume of text I have translated may be assessed as 10 to 15 thousand pages, including over 20 computer books (150 to 250 pages in each, several being wholly mine). One of my latest jobs was translating a software manual into English. The rate of $0.05/word would be nice.
