I am a US citizen; I have worked in the translation/interpretation fields for more than 8 years in Africa, the Middle East and in the United States.

Since 1997 I have worked as Arabic Interpreter at the Language and Cultural Services Department of Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota, USA. I am fluent in Arabic and English and I hold a Masters degree. I also work, on freelance basis, for Mayo Medical Ventures as reviewer of books, premiums, and other materials produced for Mayo Clinic by international publishers. In addition, I work with Mayo Clinic Division of Communications as a freelance translator of patient education documents, patient/visitor information, physician presentations, and other Mayo Clinic documents. In these roles, I also review material for cultural appropriateness.


I reviewed the translation of 10 patient education books for Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota. I have worked on freelance basis with Mayo Medical Ventures, Mayo Division of Communications and also with Department of Economic Development, Dubai Government.My projects involved technical translation in Arabic, web pages, journals, information guides, traning manuals and general correspondence.
