Let me add that I fully endorse the contributions of Victor Newsbury to this discussion.
ProZ would not have become what it has without translators.
Therefore, it should show due respect and not abuse them.
I for one would not be willing to pay to a business enterprise to market my talent if they treated me like a halfwit.
It is nice to know that you have changed the phrasing on the web site. I hope that this will also be consistent with how certification is marketed to clients who know nothing about translation and believe that the knowledge of handling the sw is the same thing as being a top translator.
The honest way of going about this would be to either admit you've done what should not have been done in the first place or add search criteria for professional certifications on an equal footing.

IMHO, "Proz" should remove the reference to "SDL International" in the "Translator Associations" (United Kingdom) section of this site. Hi David,
IMHO, "Proz" should remove the reference to "SDL International" in the "Translator Associations" (United Kingdom) section of this site. It has no place there alongside the likes of the "Institute of Translation and Interpreting", "Cambridge University" or the "School of Oriental and African Languages".

Why in the section Tools there are "SDL/Trados", "Wordfast" and "CAT Tools" listed?
I would say Trados & Wordfast are CAT tools, so they should either be implemented in the CAT Tools category or the CAT Tools category should be broken down to all existing CATs and removed.
Submitted a support ticket on this.

We would welcome any CAT Tool company that wishes to have this same level of exposure in the drop down menu bar and other select locations.
