In a hospital invoice. If it is "MRI" which was what I suspected, it does not appear as such in either Tuglaci's Tip Sozlugu or Dokmeci's Buyuk Tip Sozlugu.

Discussion

Balaban Cerit Sep 12, 2006:
It may not be present in these dictionaries but a research in Google with [emar "Manyetik Rezonans"] will show that the term is widely used. Indeed there are many MRI centers in Turkey like Megamar, Özemar, Bilçek which use the word "EMAR" in their name.

well it is MR anyway
neutral Balaban Cerit : It is MR but not "Magneto Resistance". It means "Magnetic Resonance [Imaging]"

agree Tuncay Kurt : must be "MR"

teşekkürler
agree Taner Göde : When the CD became a "SİDİ" it was inevitable that the MR would become an "EMAR" as a result of lack of proper education and contemporary technical training. Yes, Turkish is indeed written as it is spoken, foreign words, phrases & abbreviations included!

agree Mehmet Hascan : As you pronounce Turkish in exactly the same way as you spell it, it is most probably "MR(I)" which means "Manyetik rezonans görüntüleme" in Turkish. On the other hand, it may also stand for "medical records / Tıbbi kayıtlar"
