appointment of attorney

or "attorney appointment" depending how you solve the rest of it. Appointment in the sense of "appointing smbdy" of course then.
Peer comment(s):

agree Charlesp : or a lawyer, or legal counsel // actually "attorney" has a specific meaning, and the Swedish legal rules allow someone who is not an attorney (and not an Advokat) to be a legal representative. "jurist" is more like lawyer.

Thanks. I think lawyer (barrister, solicitor etc.) more pertains to the profession than the capacity as being a representative...?
agree Hugh Curtis : app0intment of legal representation (British)

appointment of legal counsel

"legal counsel" would perhaps be the broadest term, and the more appropriate, as attorney has a specific meaning, ie member of the Bar, which is simular - but not the same - to Swedish Advokat. And in Sweden it is not necessary to be an Advokat (member of the Swedish Bar) to represent a client.

However in this particular case, it may in fact be Attorney is correct, as one needs to be an Advokat to be appointed under the specific situation described.
