: you're in the right track, but this is not used, actually. It is indeed a nickname for Argentina's squad, though only used by sports commentators. No Argentine fan would refer to their team as the albicelestes.

: if it does refer to the Argentine team (Iyasu has given no other context), I think it should either be translated as "the white and blue team" or "the Argentine team".The FIFA pg uses itallics and it's in a context that only refers to that team...

You are right regarding the lack of context, but if it referes to soccer, The Albiceleste is used around the world, from Australia to Bangladesh, as a quick Internet search shows. I think a note is needed the first time. The Argentine team is not the same
