Creo que debería ser "abasto" (una sola palabra). A veces se traduciría "cannot keep up with", pero aquí prefiero "cannot cope with".

"Cannot cope", a secas, podría implicar que la persona no está a la altura de sus responsabilides, pero "cannot cope with", para mí, no sugiere eso, sino que hay demasiado trabajo para una persona.
