My suggestion based on the Collins dictionary. However it could also mean \"steak\" as in Milanesa steak..

My favorite dish is veal/steak/chicken milanese with french fries

Unless any further context is given we have to give this cooking style what it's worth-.

the way it is in the US, it refers to any breaded,pan grilled thin cut meat sometimes accompanied with tomato/tomato sauce. It is the plainest version.

Chicken/veal scaloppine, saltimbocca .etc involves the same style cooking but involves different sauces, additions to the dish (mushrooms, wine, etc.). It is definitely not schnitzel which is more disticntly done-although breaded.

I guess YANS should provide everyone with either c.text or the source culture.

schnitzel

As the phrase is written it seems to me that it is of an Argentinian origin. Being so I want you to know it is one of the most typical dishes in this country. The schnitzel is a thin slice of meat covered with egg battered and grounded bread then fried. You can serve it accompanied with french fries,(chips)or mashed potatoes, or sometimes green salad.
The escalop is a totally different dish although it also comes from a thin slice of meat flour coated and egg battered.

Both delicious but the Schnitzel being favourite the kids!!
