Discussion

petechiae A petechia, plural petechiae, is a small (1–2 mm) red or purple spot on the skin, caused by a minor bleed (from broken capillary blood vessels).
Petechia refers to one of the three descriptive types of bleeding into the skin differentiated by size, the other two being purpura and ecchymosis. Petechiae are by definition less than 3 mm.

The initial ITP begins from small petechiae on the side of your face - from the pressure until you sleep. The around the kness, legs and inside your mouth as you chewing the food. Usually the symptoms, especially if the child is young, maybe seem not important or significant especially if this is a boy who loves the football. The initial thrombocyte valeue which is between 150 thousand and 400 thousand can fall down to 7000 :( which is a life-threatening condition.

Context Hi all, thanks for your help. So this is from a letter rogatory and it quotes the injuries sustained by the vic mainly to the hands and forearm in a scuffle...
@Neil - petequias (petecchiae) Petechias do not require a a CT scan. ITP is diagnosed based on blood analyse / bone marrow biopsy (we had both). A good steroid works quickly and the improvement is visible within a week but the side effects are awful. I think this is a medical report and a description of the doctor's observations but the asker does not responsd the questions.

Richard Is this from imaging diagnostics? A CAT scan?

"petequias punto formes" looks like it should read "pequeñas puntiformes"

Could you please provide some more context, a few sentences before and after, the title / purpose of the document, etc.
@Richard could you please tell the exact diagnose or just tell me that is it ITP or injury?

agree philgoddard : Though I'm not clear what this is an area of - perhaps the previous sentence explains it)

elongated is when the area covered with petechias has not a clear border. The spots are big and faint/blurred (I do not know which is the proper in English) http://www.mayoclinic.org/symptoms/petechiae/multimedia/pete...
