Spanish term

rangos logarítmicos

Spanish to English Medical Medical (general) statistics
dear Prozians Merry Christmas!
I don't know if this translates as "odds ratio". I really know nothing about statistics and need to make sure. Thanks you!

@Giovanni You're right that a range would need to be defined by two numbers. But a 'rank' - also translated as 'rango' in Spanish - is a single number indicating the position of an item within a set.
Giovanni Rengifo Dec 25, 2009:
ODDS RATIO VS. LOGARITHMIC RANGE I looked up the definition of "odds ratio" and looked for other names that could be used to refer to this, but didn't find any information that correlates it with "logarithmic range" which, at first glance, seems to be the logical solution. The only thing that catches my attention is that a range should involve a lower and an upper limit. How did a "range" become a "number" in your document. And out of curiosity, how many groups of patients are there in this study? From what I read at Wikipedia, an "odds ratio" involves a comparison of two variables.

neutral Giovanni Rengifo : You raised an interesting point. I'm not familiar with this term, so I'm not in the position of agreeing.

neutral Giovanni Rengifo : This would be my choice, but I wonder why the range in this case is only a number. Shouldn't they indicate two values instead, say a range from X to Y?

gracias Giovanni. Agree: ranges, intervals, 2 numbers.
