Discussion

Ingrid Fryzek (asker) Apr 25, 2007:
Addendum I think the "E" was a typo, the reason being is that I am also working with other files and the term is used multiple times without the "E". Thanks again for solving my dilemma!
Alvaro Aliaga Apr 23, 2007:
Hello Liz and Dr. Jason. I don't think Ingrid's question has been fully answered. What exactly does the E in PPLBE stand for? (puño percusión lumbar bilateral *****).

costovertebral angle tenderness

This is the way I write it when the kidney percussion test is positive. Also commonly written as CVAT or CVA tenderness. You'll have to check with a UK doc to see if they use it that way.

Also known as the Giordano maneuver (especially in Latin America).

SaludoZ!

Genitourinary - kidney punch test

I am not 100% sure if this is what they call it in the UK - although I was told by a medical [expert] translator that this was not the way they did it in the UK...
