Una observación... en español si decimos que algo es "general y propedéutico", puede que se trate de UNA cosa con dos cualidades.

Pero en inglés si decimos "General and Introductory Pathology", se entiende como DOS cosas. Por tanto lo he traducido como "Introduction to General Pathology", así manteniendo el sentido de la unicidad de la materia que es patología general.

propedeutics

you will find it easily on the net. If I remember well, Aristotle already refered to it somewhere (maybe in the Physics).

You can use both versions I guess. General Pathology and Propedeutics (or something like that) or Introduction ro General Pathology, or any other formulation that encompasses the idea.
Suerte again,

disagree John Hughson (J.D., M.B.A. Finance) : I can tell you have a philosophy background!!! I do too, but evidently your memory is better. On my side, I forgot about Kant's "propedeutics", until now!!

Hi John, you're right. My philosophy background got on the way. I didn't read the sentence properly.
disagree Margaret Schroeder : Even though the word exists in English, it is never used in this way by native speakers. The only reason to employ it would be to produce a translation that sounds like a translation; usually not considered a desirable goal.

Hi, the word exists and it is used in certain fileds such as philosophy. On the other hand, and as i have said above to john, he is right: I didn't read the question properly and I took the term to be a noun here rather than an adjective.
