Spanish term

atento oficio

Spanish to English Law/Patents Law (general)
I am confused by the portions of this phrase between asterisk:

Acudo ante Usted y denuncio los hechos relatados anteriormente a fin de que se realice una investigación exhaustive de los autores del delito que se expone. Al efecto **solicito se remita atento oficio** a la Policía Judicial a fin de que investiguen el hecho que denuncio.

I request that an official letter is sent

La traducción literal de atento oficio seria "kind letter", pero ya que un oficio es una carta oficial, prefiero esta traducción. El diccionario de Terminología Jurídica Mexicana de Becerra, bajo oficio dice:

official communication, official notice, letter from a government agency

Para "notificación por oficio" dice:

notice by mail, notice sent by a government agency by certified mail

I have seen the words "atento oficio" in oodles of letters that I've translated, and always do so as "official letter". Hope this helps.

Ya van tres seguidas, muy amable Maria Carla :)
agree Bob Haskell : I am grateful for, and agree with, your translation of "atento oficio" as "official letter", but I wish to point out that one of the remnants of the use of the subjunctive case in English causes: "request that an official letter BE sent" - not "is sent"
