CEDE is reinsurable As our reinsurance agents with a fringe will know.

CEDE is a perfectly valid English word, although many seem reluctant to use it. http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/cede

CONTEXT You have a good answer at least as to meaning, but your CONTEXT is very incomplete.

In this case, "transfers for a valuable consideration"
Peer comment(s):

agree AllegroTrans : Yes, but without the indefinite article, it would not be used here

Thank you, AllegroTrans!
agree philgoddard : I actually think "valuable consideration" is a bit of a tautology. Just "transfer for consideration" would do.

Thank you, KirstenL!
neutral John Rynne : in fact, the traditional phrase was "for good and valuable consideration"

Not necessarily.

Spanish term (edited): para que CEDA de manera ONEROSA

to ASSIGN (non-voluntarily) for GOOD & VALUABLE CONSIDERATION

I agree with John R. We don't know whether a favor de XXXX is another relative of the herederas - in which event no value might be payable at all.

Even though some experi4nced UK Solicitors as translators forget, a voluntary conveyance in Anglo-Irish Equity means for no consideration and a volunteer is one who gives no consideration, so makes no payment.
Peer comment(s):

neutral philgoddard : Why are you always so preoccupied with English law? This is not about England. And "good and valuable" is a double tautology.

Do you mind! John R. is Irish. And please revise your contract notes. Good consideration means for 'natural love and affection' as between family members and has no connotation of value. it is absolutely outrageous that you are making these facile points.
