This is how Wikipedia explains it:
"Un isologo, también llamado isologotipo, es un identificador gráfico que sirve para firmar las comunicaciones de una entidad (empresa, producto, servicio, institución, etc.) Un isologo se conforma por la unión de un símbolo gráfico y un estímulo textual representado con signos tipográficos. Las marcas que funcionan con el símbolo gráfico únicamente se conocen como isotipos, y las que funcionan únicamente con texto (que a su vez hace las veces de imagen gráfica), reciben el nombre de logotipos (o «logos»)."
This distinction does not exist in English - a logo is a logo, whether it consists of words, symbols or both. The text refers to isologo, isologotipo, logotipo and isotopo - I would combine all of these into the English "logo", and put a note to the customer explaining why.

Did you spot the deliberate mistake? For isotopo, read isotipo.
