Spanish term

bastidor

Spanish to English Tech/Engineering Construction / Civil Engineering Doors
So I'm translating a text about doors and I'm struggling to find the correct term for "bastidor". Initially I thought it was the door frame, but the term "cerco" is used within the same document, which appears to refer to the door frame. I've researched online and found the following description for "bastidor":

"Bastidor: estructura resistente ubicada entre ambas caras en el perímetro de la hoja de puerta. Está formada por batientes y cabezales."

So it clearly does not refer to the door frame itself but a structure inside the door leaf. However, I cannot find what the correct term would be in English. Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance!

Estoy de acuerdo con Phil, need complete text Bastidor is also in cars, por ejemplo MOTOR Mount according to nuance can be SOPORTE, segun wiki bastidor in a car is Chassis, frame, cross bar, many words are possible.

According to what I've read, bastidor = lining/casing

cerco = frame

Cerco is the doorframe - "the jambs and upper transverse member enclosing the sides and top of a doorway and usually supporting a door"

Bastidor is the framework around the outside of the (door) leaf (outer rails and styles) - here's how a wooden one is made.

There isn't any more text as it's just in the list of door components and I've checked the glossary, there is no reference to this specific term in reference to a door. The most common translation appears to be "frame", but as I said "cerco" is also used, referring to something different, and I believe that is the door frame. "Bastidor" seems to refer to a structure inside the door to support it.

Please could we have the text you're translating. Also, have you checked the glossary? We've had lots of questions about this term.
