I am translating a Mexican Birth Certificate, and I don't know what the "C." stands for. Any one knows what it stands for? Have you seen it translated already into something specific?
Here are the couple of sentences where it appears:

C.____ stands for "Ciudadano" in Mexican official documents (from Thomas L. West III's Spanish-English Dictionary of Law and Business) but it is not customary to use "Citizen" in English. "Honorable" would be appropriate.

Comment: "Thanks. I had talked to some friends and this is what they said, but it sounded strange to me. I guess I needed a confirmation. Thanks"
