sistema solar de mercado

Spanish to English Art/Literary Archaeology Mexico
I was going to use "like a market solar system" but I get no hits for "solar system" in discussions of markets. To me that would mean in concentric rings, which doesn't make much sense in terms of trade. Any ideas? Help, please ...

a central hub

Hub has the same idea of a central point in the midle of a circle. It is also used for airlines, and distribution centres.

" and suggests that the economy was based on a central hub ... " Or core would work to, " ...the economy was based from a central core ... " Hub gives the idea of radial distribution from a central point.

Hub! Brilliant!! I like it because they are talking about the roadways, which are like spokes. Thank you!

market solar system

yes, it' perfect, because they're talking about a town set up in a certain way, so that's exactly what they mean.

hub-and-spokes distribution system

To capture the idea of "solar" you need the word "spokes" as well (the rays coming out of the center). The term "hub-and-spokes distribution system" often used for this sort of thing in English:

"Once all the pieces come together, we will use the hub-and-spokes distribution system to get the product to customers."

"Webvan spokesman Bud Grebey says the company’s hub-and-spokes distribution system gives it an edge over rivals."
http://articles.latimes.com/2000/mar/19/business/fi-10442

"The very idea of a hub-and-spokes distribution system was revolutionary."

"MSSRF has developed a “hub and spokes” distribution model..."

"Analysts blame the ‘hub and spokes’ distribution model. This is where power is generated at one point and then distributed to various parts of the country..."
http://www.kinspress.com/?op=displaystory&story_id=8&format=...

"...state-of-the-art markets would operate on the Hub-and-Spokes format..."
