I'm unhappy about "flight" because of its dual relationship with "fly" and "flee", but I like Vladimir's "striving". I've also taken the liberty of continuing the pairs of words into the conclusion.

: Я не специалист в поэзии - но простой анализ показывает две эмоциональных составляющих - rising - falling. Сначала - ascending - вверх-вверх-вверх, с усилением после точки с запятой. Затем - стоп, иначе... и вниз-вниз вниз. У вас же только первая часть
