This is software for a city map, a translation which I am editing. I am not sure how "перелет" should be translated here, and the two translators and I all did it quite differently, according to context. The client wants them to be consistent, and says the meanings are the same (but provides no explanation).
- Отключить ** «перелет» ** при смене объекта карты
- При щелчке по необходимому адресу происходит **перелет** к этому зданию на карте.
- **Перелетать** к объектам на границе карты при клике. По умолчанию этот параметр включен.
Here is how it reads now, for each of the three examples:
- Disable smooth movement when changing an object on the map [This was a translation by the better of the translators; I left it as it was, since I didn't know whether it was right or wrong. I sent a query, which was not answered at the time.]
- When you click on the address desired, the map will shift to that building.
- Go to objects on the border of the map with a click. By default, this option is enabled.
Any help would be much appreciated!

I guess you may use "shift" as well.

Comment: "Thanks to all. I really don't know what to do with this, and the client has not responded to my query, but this seems to work the best in context. "

flight, fly
they want it as "flight"? give them what they want
I don't think it will sound in English more weird than it is in Russian.

Note from asker:
Really?? It sounds ridiculous in English. You are not going to "fly" from your Moscow hotel to the Bolshoi Theater. |

2 hrs
take
as in "Clicking on the address [automatically] takes one to the corresponding building on the map". This sounds natural enough, but it may be quite tricky when trying to use the same term as a noun, hence low confidence. Unfortunately, there may not be much choice here - that is, if you want it to read like a natural English text. Cheers, Susan.

Zoom is usually increase the size, but it can also be go directly to. I think that is what is meant here but I agree with alexander, it's kind of ridiculous.

Thanks, that might be right. I've closed the question and delivered the job, but appreciate your suggestion. |

pointer
From the context, it is changing the
pointing position on a map, as I understand.
" swith off the pointer while changing the object on the map"
"On clicking at adifferent address, the pointer appeares at that place on the map"......In this case , "pointer" may the right word.
Thank you
