Glad to be of help.
1. I don't see my comment as a slight but as a rather objective observation: Russia, doubtless, IS a relatively low-tech country; and the term "engineer" IS widely abused there. So, where's the lesse majeste?
Your reaction is exactly what I don't like about many Russians: a chip on the showlder, aggressive parocchialism and imposing forced patriotism on everybody with "russian-sounding" surnames.
3. Be it as it may, Jesus, am I glad that I'm far away and you can't report me to some glorious good citizens' organization – to be sent somewhere chilly for re-education and forced improvement of my patriotic spirit! Or simply shoot me at dawn

Well, then, there should be no love lost between you and the Russkies. There are, of course, Ukrainians and Ukrainians, but on the whole I don't think anyone likes to be a colony.
If I liked Russia, I would've been still living there... Even as I child I started noticing that WE have invented EVERYTHING. The first air flight–Mozhajskij – not Write brothers; Radio – Popov – not Marconi; Even the light bulb – Jablochkov–not Edisson. And I couldn't understand, if WE're so clever why is there so much shit, blood, drunken savagery and, last but not least, appalling dental hygiene? And now I see Russians coming here – "orientalised": barbarians as always... and whatever you tell them or whatever they see, starts from a hair-rising (to me) refren: а у нас...

Note from asker:
Take is easy pal: I am from Ukraine |
