: That website must have been machine-translated. The text in English is simply horrendous. Also, I don't think it's realiable at all, since it translates "guarda-fogo" as "fender", when it should be "chimney-board".

I agrre with you that English is bad, but it not amchine translation. Some human translations are worse than machine. The EU dictionary also gives the menaing as Rebecca

São as únicas partes da chaminé que vão no telhado. Estou supondo que possa ser um regionalismo para "capelo de chaminé". A menos que seja algo utilizado para instalar a chaminé, como sugere a Marlene.

I wonder if this is a typo for "reboço de chaminé" i.e "rendering of chimney/flue" (with a sand and cement mixture). This is certainly standard practice in the building industry for fire safety reasons.
You also have to remember that many of these "orçamentos" (estimates) are written by builders with a rather modest education (just as much in England as in Portugal), so spelling mistakes are not unusual.
