Clause that cites the act and date in a Deed or other Conveyance. Before signing a deed, the grantor should make sure that everything is in order, such as the spelling of names and legal descriptions. First of all, thank you all for your answers, but proz has changed the language pair. I know the word is in Latin, but I am translating a contract from English into Portuguese. So, somebody has used this word in English, but I don't know if it is used in Portuguese. There are several websites (such as answers.com) that explain what "testimonium" means. It actually starts with the expression "In witness whereof" and it ends with the signatures. So, the question is: "is there a specific name for such part of the contract in Portuguese?" Thank you.
