Japanese term

後発医療機器

Japanese to English Medical Medical: Instruments drugs and equipment
The document, an application for approval of the manufacture and sale of medical equipment, indicates that the requirement for clinical trials is not applicable because the equipment is 後発医療機器.
I'm assuming that this means that it is generic medical equipment--is that correct?
This is the last line in my text and my deadline is approaching so any help would be most gratefully appreciated!
Thanks!

generic medical device

"me-too medical device " and "generic medical equipment" are not bad, but the most common term among professionals seems to be "generic medical device":

Generic Medical Device's (GMD'S) mission is to improve the lives of patients, families and health care providers by offering high quality, cost effective medical devices for standard of care procedures.
