confidential
There are different degree of confidentiality. Extremely confidential, strictly confidential, top secret... to name a few. Though I cannot name those in neatly organized order on top of my head. But I am more than certain this is correct translation.

To respond your additional question to me, I agree with Maynard. In this case there is no modifiers. Thereby simple 重要機密 is plain and simple ¥"confidential document(s)¥". So much so that it is even ¥"genetic¥" term for 重要機密. In other words no specific level.

In viewing my additional comment to you Linda, I thought the matter was not sufficeintly explained so here is addition to the additional.
To me 重要 sounds redundant as 機密 already asserts its importance (i.e. 重要). But author wished to emphasize the importance, so if you want to specific degree it would be something like ¥"strictly confidential¥" would be the best bet. Though best thing is to ask your client.

: In the absence of other considerations, I'd say no modifiers necessary.

there is no 機密 that is not 重要
so 重要機密 is not good Japanese, for me
if you need to grade/classify 機密, please put some adjective on ¥'confidential¥'
or
Top-secret
