sistema nervoso
L’autore è inglese e il titolo recita “An integrated nervous system model heightens awareness of bidirectional brain-body communication”.

The Integrated Nervous System is organized into three sections:
1. The Basics of Neurological Problem Solving introduces the student to the anatomy of the nervous system, the process of
giving a neurological examination,
2. Applying the Basics to Clinical Cases consists of nine chapters, each devoted to one aspect or area of the nervous system.
3. Supplementary Considerations: Rehabilitation and Ethics contains two chapters.

To understand how threat changes both psychological and physiological processes, we need to accept a ‘one nervous system’ model (see below) rather than an antiquated model in which the central nervous system is separate from the autonomic nervous system. Functionally, the brain and visceral organs are connected by neural pathways that send signals from the brain to our visceral organs and from the visceral organs to the brain. Thus, threat reactions through definable and measurable pathways may have predictable effects on our mental and physical health.

*****This integrative one-nervous system perspective**** encourages a better understanding of the dynamics of neural regulation of an integrated nervous system, while being constrained by the limited paradigms that are frequently used in the contemporary training of physicians

Note from asker:
Thank you so much, Liz, for your contribution! May I ask whether you think that "integrated" in "an integrated nervous system model" is referred to the model, not specifically to the nervous system? |
Dear Liz, I really don't know how to thank you! Porges is the author of my text, too, and the sentence "A one nervous system model " is a rephrasing of my sentence... Thank you so much! |
Thank you so much, Liz! In an article I found thanks to your reference, the author says: "The Polyvagal Theory provides an important bridge from a correlative approach that historically characterized psychophysiology to a*** more integrative model ***incorporating contemporary knowledge from neurophysiology and vertebrate phylogeny" AND also "Integrative theories that link central nervous system structures to autonomic function, such as the Polyvagal Theory" So, I think your hypothesis is correct! Maybe you can post an answer: I would be really glad to give you points! |
Discussion
Buona giornata e grazie ancora!
Per esempio, in un altro testo l'autore dice: "Polyvagal Theory emphasizes the interactive and integrative aspect of different levels of the nervous system"

This *** integrative single nervous system perspective*** encourages a better understanding of the dynamics of neural regulation of *** an integrated nervous system ***
