Italian term

Passate lateralmente

Italian to English Marketing Tourism & Travel Walking guide to rupestrian churches in Matera
This is a walking guide through fixed trails for the walkers: Context:

This might sound obvious, but it sounds odd when I translate it:

"sideways along the wall" - sounds incorrect
"to the side of the wall" - sounds incomplete

examples from the web:
Walk uphill alongside the wall, to a stile at the very top of the hill...

We go south and then turn right (W) at a junction (Wp.37) to walk alongside a recently built stone wall...
