Discussion

Non-ProZ.com Oct 3, 2005:
The context It is a degree certificate (list of exams taken)
marionclarion Oct 3, 2005:
elements, essentials, principles, facts - all are correct interpretations of "elementi" and show one can say the same thing in diverse ways - which you choose depends on context, general feel of the rest of the paper/article/book or whatever the source!
Georges Tocco Oct 3, 2005:
it all depends on context but elementi seems fine

Facts about agronomy and rural economy

elements is a rather unusual term in this instance
Peer comment(s):

neutral Ivana UK : "elements of" followed by a course subject is fairly standard

facts is straightforward anad accurate and less formal, less old-fashioned than elements; elements used to be more used...

i know; that's why i said it's OK. but so is "essentials". as far as i know, in linguistics, many courses are dubbed "essentials of grammar/syntax" etc. personally, i like "essentials" better, but i have nothing against the other possibility
