I am translating an Italian legal document into American English describing legal measures to be taken against a company being accused of unfair business practices including, inter alia, antitrust activities.
I saw this phrase which I think should not be translated literally although I am not sure:
comunicazione di estensione soggettiva del procedimento
Here is the entire paragraph:
A seguito di ulteriori accertamenti istruttori, in data 24 gennaio 2017, è stata trasmessa la comunicazione di estensione soggettiva del procedimento nei confronti delle società xxx e xxx al fine di verificare la partecipazione alle medesime pratiche commerciali scorrette, in violazione degli articoli 20, 21, comma 1, letter b) e ... del Codice del Consumo...
