In Italia sono stati introdotti due diversi sistemi di rappresentanza politica per stranieri a livello locale: gli organismi
consultivi per stranieri e il *consigliere aggiunto*.... i consiglieri aggiunti sono direttamente eletti e, diversamente dagli organismi consultivi, hanno il diritto di partecipare a ogni seduta delle assemblee consiliari, ma senza diritto di voto.
It is perfectly clear that they are "additional/supplementary/extra councillors" but does anyone know of an official translation for this position? Or if it emerges it has not been 'officially' translated, any better solutions?

I actually have an African friend in Italy who was one of these, for several years, as a "representative of the immigrant community".
I do not believe that the English in Tuscany are similarly represented; though I wonder why.

Thanks, Tom. I have just read the statute of one of the councils which has these councillors: it's 'discriminatory', but only non-Italian and non-EU foreigners are foreign (we EU people are all one...... oh yeah?) :-) |
