enclosed by a gilded wooden screen
I believe the meaning of "gelosia" (French "jalousie") has come to mean any type of screen. Originally it was a Persian type of screen (degraded into the modern"persiana") that allowed an occupant to see out whilst keeping them (her?) hidden. One baroque example is seen in this photograph, on the balcony at the right.

If you want to be fancy you could call it a "jalousie" - here's another example

: venitian? No such word. Perhaps you mean "Venetian" but this would surely not be right. A *Venetian* blind is a slatted drop-down blind of modern invention, derived from ancient Persion prototypes. I suspect you may have misinterpreted the Hoepli manual.

: A Venetian blind is a roll down slatted blind for the window - that is what it is in UK anyway.
