Kind of a stupid question :) Could you please look at this image:

and tell me if it is a '8' or a '9'. I know that you can write '9' in a few different ways, but just want to make sure.

This is how nine is written in the traditional Hindi fashion. In fact, after adoption of international digits for numbers, these have become obsolete and quite interestingly modern children don't even know that such type of numbers still exist. However, these are still used by traditional businessmen or who practice old system of accounting.

If it looks like 8 it must be 4!
Even without looking at the picture (unable to view), I can say if it looks like the Arabic '8' with the top open, it is 4 in Hindi and the Arabic '9' looks like it's mirror image in Hindi!
