German term

blockfest

German to English Tech/Engineering Paint
Die Beschichtung ist ventilierend und besonders blockfest.

I've found a definition of Blockfestigkeit on the Internet:

Blockfestigkeit

Wenske Chemistry gives "caking" for "Blockfestigkeit" – which is confusing me. According to the above defn. I would have thought blockfest means non-caking.

Any ideas?

Many TIA

Discussion

Non-ProZ.com Aug 27, 2002:
I seem to have found the answer ... in case anyone is interested :-)

Block Resistance
Another attribute of top-quality acrylic latex semi-gloss paint is block resistance, which means that two painted surfaces are less likely to stick together (as in a door sticking to the jamb) than with lower quality paints.

Thanks folks - no need to make any more suggestions.

anti-tacking

Coatings that do not stick are referred to as 'anti-tack'

I thought also of 'non-stick' but this is used more for Teflon and anti-graffiti coatings, so from your definition, I might go more for anti-tack in one form or another.

agree Kim Metzger : I also think Wenske Chemistry is wrong - anti-caking would also make sense.
