Glossary entry (derived from question below)
German term or phrase:
konsiliarisch beratend tätig sein
English translation:
offers medical consult services
German term
konsiliarisch beratend tätig sein
Die Klinik für xy ist konsiliarisch beratend für sämtliche Fachabteilungen des Klinikums tätig.
Ich frage mich nicht nur wie konsiliarisch übersetzt wird und was es bedeutet, vielmehr würde ich die Konstruktion koniliarisch tätig sein gerne so in Englische übersetzen, dass es keinesfalls hölzern klingt.
I need help for the expression. thanks.

: Either consultancy or consulting, but not consult. / Certainly not: when I search for "medical consult" (in inverted commas), I get a whole bunch of German websites first. Says it all, does it not? (same goes for "consult services").

I had "consulting" in my deleted answer, but realized that was not it. In medical context, it's either consult (US) or consultation (UK). Here, from Johns Hopkins (NOT a German institution, or is it?) http://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/gim/training/Consulta

Thank you, Michael! Also for the moral support :) I've translated a large volume of medical reports, and consult(ation) is the term I see most often.

consultation services are provided
1. "Fellows will provide consultation services to all clinical departments within UHB and will see a wide variety of pathology."
2. "Psychiatric consultation services are provided to patients of all ages and to all clinical departments. "
Or:
"Clinic for X provides consulting services to all clinical departments"
I also thought of "serves in advisory capacity to/for" but that sounds a bit stiff in a sentence..

"Ein Konsiliararzt untersucht Patienten, die in einer Fachrichtung( z.B. Chirurgie) stationär liegen bei einer Fragestellung in seinem Fachgebiet (z.B. Psychiatrie), wenn er vom behandelnden Arzt dazu gerufen wird. Er untersucht, gibt seine Meinung ab, behandelt aber nicht den Patienten."
